WHO WE ARE

My name is Michael Hoelzer, and as the Founder and CEO of Wayside Sanford.

I created Bloc my first year of college, in 2019, to help address a critical need for greater information and inclusion on high school and college campuses. We know how important it is to feel connected to a community, and to feel a sense of belonging. But too often, important events, activities, and announcements can slip under the radar, leaving us feeling disconnected. This sense of disconnection can have real consequences for personal and community wellbeing.

At Bloc, we're committed to helping students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and prospective students and parents feel more engaged and connected to their campus and local community. With Bloc, everyone can stay organized, informed, and connected, no matter where they are.

Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has made this need even more urgent. With so many restrictions and shutdowns limiting the campus experience, people are craving ways to stay connected and engaged with others. At Bloc, we're proud to offer a unified platform that helps to foster a strong sense of community, even in challenging times.
